Dawn Snyder, AIA
Architect
Dawn Snyder, AIA joined Ally Architecture during the Spring of 2022. As an experienced architect, Dawn brings a wide range of knowledge to the team. She has been licensed in Tennessee since 2012.
Dawn attended the College of Architecture and Design at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Studying abroad in Poland at the Krakow Polytechnic University Exchange program was one of many experiences that shaped her understanding of architecture. With an openness to new adventures, she immersed herself in a foreign culture which brought a better understanding of history, culture, and our place in it.
Upon earning her bachelor of architecture in 2002, she began her post graduate career in Washington, DC at the Smithsonian National Zoological Park as part of the Design and Construction team for facilities management department. The experience strengthened an appreciation and study of the natural world and the relationship architecture has in protecting it. The bald eagle exhibit remains one of her most interesting project to work on. Protecting animals and creating natural adaptive habitats is a very collaborative design effort.
Relocating back to Tennessee, Dawn joined The Bullock Group in Knoxville where she managed hospitality, retail, and multi-family residential projects and also many operational aspects of a small architectural firm for 6 years.
She then moved back to her native Chattanooga where she continues to bring a great appreciation for East Tennessee and the continued growth the region has been experiencing over her career. The bulk of her experience in Chattanooga has been working at Tinker Ma (formerly Cogent Studio) as a Project Architect on commercial, institutional, hospitality, restaurant, and multi-family projects.
She advocates for the profession as a member of AIA and by serving on the AIA TN Conference Committee (2021, 2022), AIA Chattanooga Executive Committee as Secretary (2018-2021), and mentoring with ACE Mentor Program.
